Adoption Requirements

  • All animals are spayed or neutered by MBHS before adoption.
  • Our contract requires that cats remain indoors at all times.
  • Adopted dogs must have a secure fenced area appropriate for their size but are not to be kept outside.
  • Humane Society staff will conduct a home and yard check for dogs prior to adoption.

Animal Turn-in Requirements
Animals are accepted at the Joshua Tree No-Kill Shelter on a space-available basis. No one should bring an animal to the Shelter without first talking to the manager to determine if there is room and if the animal is adoptable.
